WC started his restaurant career at the age of 25 at Farrell’s Ice Parlor Restaurants in Portland, Oregon leaving as the Director of Management Training. He followed that with a variety of food service experiences – retail cookies, sandwich shops, classic taverns, full service dinner houses and site acquisition work for restaurants in the Northwest. In 1996 he took on the development of Tommy Bahama’s restaurants and retail stores from their first combination location in Naples (1996 total sales: $4M ) to eventually 7 restaurants and 24 retail stores (2003 total sales: $110M ). In 2004 Tommy Bahama was purchased by Oxford Industries and WC continued as President of the Restaurant Division. At that time of his retirement in 2010 there were 12 operating restaurants ($65M ) and 85 retail stores ($195 ). He currently does consulting in the hospitality and shopping center development industries.
